Electronic payments network NYCE and China
UnionPay have signed an agreement that allows cardholders
access to ATMs in both networks.

Under the reciprocal agreement, NYCE ATM
cardholders can access ATMs in China for balance enquiries and
withdrawals and UnionPay cardholders will have access to more
than 360,000 NYCE network ATMs. A direct connection between the
networks will enable transactions.

“UnionPay attaches high value to giving
UnionPay cards as many access points to their funds as possible. By
enhancing the co-operation with its partners, UnionPay is focusing
on building broader acceptance in the US,” said Jianbo Cai, first
EVP of China UnionPay.

Both networks have agreed to continue working
together in a bid to provide extended payment services to their
customers.
