China UnionPay has attracted the attention of
entertainment and shopping centres in Australia, which have all
switched their banking relationship to China UnionPay’s local
partner National Australia Bank (NAB) in order to gain access to
the Chinese card network’s transactions.
The retailers that have switched to NAB
include Crown Casino, The Star in Sydney and Phillip Island.

Another bank China UnionPay has signed a deal
with is Commonwealth Bank, through which the card network will
access 190,000 merchants within two years.
China UnionPay also has inked deals with taxi
services company Cabcharge and Tourism New South Wales.
