Chase has come forward to offer assistance to its credit card customers who are financially affected by the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
The customers will be offered necessary aids such as lowering or eliminating fees, deferring payments and lowering the interest rate through Chase customer support.
Chase spokesperson was quoted by CNBC Select as saying: “When customers call us with financial challenges related to coronavirus, our customer service specialists have been helping them with things like waiving fees, extending payment due dates for cards, auto loans and mortgages, or increasing credit lines for consumer and small business customers.”
In addition, Chase will work with customers to help find solutions for changing or cancelling a trip through the new coronavirus trip management page.

By GlobalDataCustomers, who have booked future travel on their Chase card through the Chase Ultimate Rewards (CUR) portal, may receive a refund or travel credit with an online cancellation request. This is only applicable if the travel dates are eligible for a refund.
Furthermore, credit card travel insurance alone will not reimburse a cancelled or changed trip.
However, Chase will provide an exception to those whose trip has been cancelled due to travel restriction in the destination or because they or their travel partner have acquired coronavirus disease.
Apart from Chase, other major credit card issuers like Citi, Apple and American Express, also offered temporary relief and assistance to the customers affected by the pandemic.
Financial institutions are trying to mitigate the financial effect of coronavirus on people and business as lockdowns and travel bans continue to take place across the globe.
