The announcement comes as UK card usage continues to grow.
UK Finance data shows UK-issued debit and credit cards were used for 31.4 billion transactions in 2024, with a total value of more than £1trn. Cards also represented 64% of all transactions.
Chargebacks911, which provides chargeback prevention and remediation technology, said merchants are facing higher dispute levels as payment volumes rise.
It pointed to first-party misuse, often described as “friendly fraud”, where consumers dispute valid purchases.
A 2025 Mastercard report cited in the announcement puts friendly fraud at 45% of chargebacks. Chargebacks911’s Chargeback Field Report said 72% of merchants reported an average 18% increase in friendly fraud over a three-year period.
Chargebacks911 founder and CEO Monica Eaton said: “Merchants today are navigating a far more complex payments environment than ever before.
“It’s no longer enough to simply accept payments. You have to actively manage what happens after the transaction. By partnering with acceptcards, we’re helping UK businesses take a more proactive approach to protecting their revenue throughout the entire payment lifecycle.”
Under the partnership, acceptcards’ merchants will gain access to Chargebacks911’s chargeback prevention and management services.
The offering is designed to reduce disputes, improve recovery of funds, and maintain “long-term profitability”.
Merchants will also have access to autonomous dispute management and representment processes. The partnership will provide increased visibility into post-transaction performance and risk exposure to support decision-making and optimisation.
acceptcards founder and CEO Richard Bradley said: “Partnering with Chargebacks911 allows us to offer a more complete solution, one that not only supports seamless payments but also helps protect businesses from the growing impact of chargebacks.”
