Cashfree Payments has announced the integration of Apple Pay support on international cards through its international payment gateway (IPG).
This development allows businesses to offer Apple Pay as a checkout option, enhancing their reach in global markets such as the US, UK, Canada, UAE, and Europe.
This integration aims to reduce payment friction and facilitate borderless e-commerce.
Cashfree Payments head of product Nitin Pulyani said: “At Cashfree Payments, we believe the future of cross-border commerce is about creating better and more intuitive payment experiences. We’ve consistently built solutions that help Indian businesses scale with confidence, and now with Apple Pay’s integration, we are thrilled to redefine how global consumers connect with Indian merchants.”
The integration addresses the lack of robust infrastructure for Indian merchants to support native wallet-based card flows.
Previously, international customers had to manually enter card details, leading to higher drop-offs.

By GlobalDataCashfree’s Apple Pay integration offers a fast and secure checkout, potentially reducing drop-offs by up to 75% for Indian exporters in high-intent markets such as the US, UAE, and EU, stated the company.
This change is particularly beneficial for sectors such as travel, tourism, SaaS exporters, and global e-commerce brands, where transaction failures due to manual entry errors are costly.
The integration utilises biometric authentication and tokenised card data to eliminate manual entry errors, enhancing security and reducing fraud.
The feature is available for all merchants using Cashfree’s IPG and operates natively on iOS devices via Safari and in-app.
Existing merchants can enable Apple Pay instantly through their current checkout setup, benefiting from the same dashboards, SDKs, and real-time reconciliation tools without additional integration efforts.
Cashfree Payments, founded in 2015, processes transactions worth $80bn annually for over 800,000 businesses.
Authorised by the Reserve Bank of India as a payment aggregator, it is backed by investors including Y Combinator, Apis Partners, State Bank of India, and KRAFTON.
Cashfree’s decision follows closely on the heels of Razorpay’s announcement, made just a week prior, that it would be offering Apple Pay as a payment option for merchants in India.
