Ride hailing platform CarGo Technologies has chosen Wirecard to manage in-app payments for its platform in Belgrade, Vienna and Zurich.
CarGo is currently available in the Balkan region, with more than 800,000 registered users and 4,000 partners for roadside services. The firm plans to expand its presence throughout Europe.
Under the alliance, a pre-payment function backed by Wirecard will be enabled on the CarGo app. This is meant to eliminate the need to carry cash or scan a card.
Statista estimates show that Europe’s mobility services market will reach €400bn by 2030. Wirecard aims to cater to this emerging market.
Wirecard lead manager of Strategic Alliances Evangelina Mihajlovic said: “We are excited to collaborate with CarGo Technologies and provide a seamless payment experience for each and every one of their customers.
“Similar to Wirecard, CarGo Technologies is a company with a clear vision and we look forward to cooperating on innovative and forward-thinking projects in the areas of smart mobility and geolocation services.”
