American corporate cards issuer Brex has launched an office in Vancouver, Canada, which marks its first-ever international location.

Vancouver’s deep talent pool and workforce with diverse skills are said to play a key role in the selection of the region for its new office.

The Canada outpost will initially have staff strength of around 40. The workforce will mainly include software engineering and customer experience functions.

Plans are on to hire a diverse team, representing various countries and origins.

Brex founders Henrique Dubugras and Pedro Fransceschi are focusing on hiring staff from different backgrounds.

Brex VP of Engineering and executive sponsor for the Vancouver office Cosmin Nicolaescu said:  “Brex benefits from a broad range of perspectives stemming from our internationally diverse workforce of immigrants as well as American- and Canadian-born nationals.
