Putting some big banks to shame, card companies such as Visa and MasterCard are ranked very highly on CI’s social media rankings.
MasterCard and Visa placed 3rd and 4th respectively in terms of Twitter followers in 2016, behind only BBVA and the World Bank. Also in the top 10 was American Express in 8th. All three have followers in the millions.
In addition, MasterCard, Visa and American Express also placed in the top 10 with regards to YouTube. One of the most popular sites to share content, MasterCard recorded over 62 million total views with Visa having 51 million views and American Express just behind with over 44 million.
