British technology entrepreneur Nick Boardman, who founded Rock Group in 1992, has launched a new bitcoin online marketplace, named BTXDeals, to take advantage of the rising potential of the virtual currency.
BTXDeals, which has secured several key vendors, including Grange Hotels, Shy Aviation, Sun Mountain Golf, K Bassam Jewellers, Time Square Birmingham, New Born Electronics, Paul Oz, Cherished Number Plates and Spanish Villas, will offer 50% lower cost-per-sale compared to other e-tailers with no hidden charges or additional fees.
The new marketplace will allow vendors to list an unlimited number of items and receive payment in either Bitcoins or GBP Sterling with base price of goods updated every 10 minutes based on the exchange rate of bitcoin payment gateway Bitpay.
Initially based in the UK, with plans to expand into international territories next year, BTXDeals will also offer comparisons in Euros and US Dollars for added convenience.
Boardman said: "As the first of its kind, BTXDeals embraces the potential of Bitcoin and provides a safe, secure and transparent form of online shopping that puts the power in the hands of the consumer."
