A new British Airways (BA) credit card has been launched with service provider Absa Group in Johannesburg, South Africa, to offer its executive club members with best Avios earn rate offered in the entire country.
The new BA card replaces the British Airways Standard Bank Credit Card, which ended on 31 January 2014.
The BA credit card is designed to meet the needs of its frequent travellers, who can earn Avios at a reasonable rate on all purchases made through their credit cards.
Avios can then be redeemed for reward flights on premium airlines such as British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Qantas and other oneworld alliance airlines. Additionally, Avios earned can be used for car hire and hotel bookings.
Absa retail banking head, Arrie Rautenbach, said the BA credit card offers the quickest and easiest way to earn Avios, the currency of the British Airways Executive Club Frequent Flyer Programme.
"Other exceptional benefits of the new credit card include, the best Avios earn rate, points that don’t expire as long as customers remain active, flying privileges and status, and world-class customer service," Rautenbach added.
