Brink’s Global Payments, a Brink’s Company subsidiary, has partnered with NetSpend, a prepaid cards and related financial services provider, to roll out a new Brink’s Prepaid MasterCard.

Issued by BofI Federal Bank, the prepaid card will deliver peace of mind to consumers from a secure and stable money management solution.

The card will also offer consumers access to convenient and flexible features including direct deposit up to two days faster, 24/7 account access with an online account centre and smartphone apps, virtual cards for online shopping and online money transfers to other cardholders.

The launch is part of the company’s latest push in the North American consumer payments market and brings a familiar consumer brand to a high-growth market.

Brink’s said that NetSpend will act as the exclusive program manager and processor for the Brink’s prepaid card.

Brink’s chairman president and CEO Tom Schievelbein said: "We are eager to partner with NetSpend and MasterCard in this full commercial launch so that we can realize our vision of becoming the general purpose reloadable product of choice for underbanked families throughout America."
