The Bank of East Asia (BEA) has introduced its i-Pay mobile payment service for credit card customers at the BEA i-Pay – I Pay My Way media event.
Scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2014, i-Pay is compatible with all Android/iOS phones, and all mobile networks.

Using NFC technology, i-Pay will allow customers to make payments with a simple tap at a reader of any MasterCard PayPass merchant.
According to BEA, the customers will be able to use iPay to settle a range of transactions including grocery, food & beverage, fashion, and beauty & personal care purchases.
BEA general manager and personal banking division head, Vincent Hui, said: "BEA is the first bank in Hong Kong to provide a mobile payment service that does not restrict customers to a particular type of smartphone or network.
"This feature enhances the customer experience, as people can enjoy greater convenience and flexibility when using the innovative payment method."
