Barclaycard has signed a partnership deal with Global, a media and entertainment group, for a span of three years.

The partnership marks the latest addition to Barclaycard’s entertainment offerings, providing savings on a range of events.

Barclaycard cardholders can save 5% on tickets for events such as concerts, theatre, expos, comedy and sport.

They can save 5% on food and drink at selected festival vendors as well as enjoy exclusive access to festival presales and save 10% on each and every presale ticket.

Barclaycard sponsorship head Dan Mathieson said: “Global’s network of gigs and concerts also means that we are able to give our cardholders something to look forward to when the lockdown lifts by offering exclusive presales and perks to some of UK’s most celebrated music events.”

The alliance includes Barclaycard’s headline sponsorship of the music festivals Summertime Ball and Jingle Bell Ball led by Global’s UK-based radio station ‘Capital’.

Barclaycard will serve as the headline partner of Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball on December 2020.

The Summertime Ball with Barclaycard will return in mid-2021 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Barclaycard will also collaborate with Capital to run a new digital content series targeting music fans across the country, as they face a Covid-19 lockdown.

The two-hour TV show will air on Sky One, YouTube, Capital and Global Player from 5 pm to 7 pm on 16 May.

Moreover, Barclaycard will be the headline sponsor of the Radio X Presents gig until 2023.

Radio X, which is owned by Global, is a commercial radio station brand focused on alternative music, primarily indie rock.

Lastly, the card company will become a hospitality partner of ‘Classic FM Live’, a flagship classical music event of Global.
