US based Bank of the West, subsidiary of BNP Paribas has launched a new mobile banking app that comes with a Quick Balance feature.

The app, developed by Fiserv, global integrated technology provider, is available on iPhone, Android and iPad.

The Quick Balance feature enables customers with mobile banking to access their balances without needing to log onto their accounts.

The feature, that allows users to view their balance with a finger slide, is the first of its kind from a North American bank.

John Finley, senior vice president, online & mobile banking, Bank of the West said of the app: "Since the launch of the apps and the Quick Balance feature, we’ve double the number of Bank of the West registered mobile banking users and had a three-fold increase in long-ins per day."

Built on Mobiliti mobile banking and payments platform from Fiserv, the app includes all standard banking app functionalities, such as balance transfers and bill payments in addition to the Quick Balance check.
