Spain-based Banco Sabadell has launched a new supplementary utility solution that allows its mobile banking service, BS Mobile, to make collections from any credit or debit card.

The new solution has been designed to allow BS Mobile to convert a smartphone into a mobile point of sale (POS) without requiring any extra software or hardware.

Earlier this year, Banco Sabadell and Ingenico presented a solution that was capable of converting smartphones into mobile POS, through a physical device attached to the telephone.

Banco Sabadell Means of Payment and Consumer Financing director Albert Figueras said: "They’re two different solutions, aimed at two different target publics.

"The solution developed in conjunction with Ingenico is intended for companies or the self-employed to carry out a large volume of collections using their mobile POS. This new option from BS Mobile is designed for companies with a smaller volume of transactions."
