Financial services group Banco Popular North
America (BPNA) is set to launch its MasterCard Platinum XTRA credit
card with an enhanced rewards scheme, claimed to impose no
restrictions on purchases.

Designed for those consumers who use credit
products in a ‘responsible’ manner, BPNA claims the Platinum XTRA
card allows clients to earn awards in a quicker fashion. 1.5 reward
points for every dollar spent will accumulate on all purchases in
all categories including everyday shopping such as groceries, gas,
clothes or paying bills.

“Banco Popular MasterCard Platinum XTRA is
geared toward customers who use credit responsibly, frequently and
enjoy rewards programs,” said Manuel Chinea, senior vice president,
US Retail Banking Operations of Banco Popular.

“Research shows that consumers appreciate
credit card rewards programs. Unlike other cards, there are no
restrictions on the types of purchases that earn rewards.”

The rewards can be redeemed for a wide variety
of items like travel packages, gift cards, certificates and
statement credits.
