Banco Nacional de México, Integrante del Grupo Financiero Banamex (Banamex) and JCB International (JCBI) have formed a new alliance for JCB merchant acquiring business in the Mexican market.
The partnership will allow JCB cards to be accepted at over 70,000 Banamex merchants across Mexico from 2015.
Mexican lender Banamex forms part of Grupo Financiero Banamex and is also a member of Citigroup.
The new deal will enable both merchants affiliated to Banamex to add a new brand as a sales opportunity, while allowing JCBI to offer its cardholders wider acceptance in Mexico.
JCBI deputy president Kimihisa Imada said: "Mexico is one of the most important markets for JCB’s global business expansion and we are pleased to welcome our new partner to the JCB network.
