Australia’s accounting software provider MYOB has introduced a limited release of its new mobile payments solution, MYOB PayDirect, to enable small businesses get paid faster and manage their business while on-the-go.

Designed to transform small businesses’ smartphones into payments terminals, MYOB PayDirect provides users a free mobile app to facilitate credit card payments.

Using the app, business owners can accept payments while on the go or select AccountRight Live integration to raise invoices, manage debtors and contacts, as well as take payments.

MYOB CEO, Tim Reed, said, "Like the fuel gauge in your car, the new MYOB PayDirect app enables small business owners to view and manage cash flow on-the-go. Business owners will also be able to take action to improve their cash flow by issuing invoices, taking credit card payments and administering receipts on the spot.

"The streamlined application process, affordable monthly payment plans and no lock-in contracts make this a must-have solution for all mobile businesses – from tradies to beauty therapists, and accountants to personal trainers."

Bendigo Bank will provide merchant accounts for MYOB PayDirect, while Mint Wireless will serve as the mobile payments gateway provider for the solution.

Over subsequent months, the company will enable its clients to integrate with the MYOB Essentials range and addition of extra features including EFTPOS compatibility and chip and pin.

Additionally, MYOB is planning to launch a new, advanced companion card reader that accepts more payment types including EFTPOS and ‘chip and pin’ cards.

The new reader will take the place of the current MYOB PayDirect card reader later this year and will be delivered to existing clients before 1 August 2014 at no extra charge.
