AnywhereCommerce, a technology provider headquartered in Montreal, has been given the all clear from the Visa Ready Programme on its mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) device ‘Walker’.
The ‘Walker’ supports both EMV Chip-and-Signature as well as magnetic stripe payment acceptance technologies.
Designed to transform mobile devices into functioning and secure mPOS solutions, the device is compatible with iOS, Android, and Windows Phone 8 operating systems, according to the company.
The collaboration with Visa is an ongoing one, with the Ready Program having approved AnywhereCommerce’s mobile chip and PIN service, ‘Nomad 1.0’ earlier in 2013.
The financial services giant’s approval remains very important to AnywhereCommerce, explained Mitchell Cobrin, the company’s founder and CEO. "We continue to invest heavily in research and development to achieve exactly these types of product milestones," he said.
"To have our technology tested, approved and ultimately aligned with a blue chip company like Visa validates our commitment to develop technologies that are relevant and accessible".
