American Express (Amex) has rolled out a low rate credit card in Canada in a bid to give cardholders greater payment flexibility.
Dubbed Essential Credit Card, the new officering is available without any annual fees. It offers lowest ongoing interest rate to cardholders while enabling them to pay their balance over time.

The card also offers benefits such as travel accident insurance, buyer's assurance protection, purchase protection, emergency card replacement, 24/7 customer service and fraud protection guarantee services, among others.
American Express Canada vice president of marketing Aileen Kheraj said: “We want our cardmembers to be able to enjoy the ease and flexibility of making purchases – big or small – and the new Essential Credit Card does just that.
“For us, we're passionate about providing Canadians with breadth and choice when it comes to card products to suit their individual lifestyles."
