American Express (Amex) has announced that its Platinum cardholders will get 5X membership rewards points on airfare booked directly with airlines or through American Express Travel.
The new enhancement will be automatic and apply to all Platinum Card members.
Now, business Platinum cardholder can use Membership Rewards Pay with Points through American Express Travel to book a flight with their selected airline and can earn 50% points. This benefit can also be availed while booking a first or business class ticket with any airline.
Amex said that the business Platinum card members can earn 1.5X membership rewards points per dollar spent on any purchase of $5,000 or more.
Furthermore, Platinum card members and business Platinum card members can access American Express’ Global Lounge Collection, which provides entry into the most airport lounges worldwide.
Both Platinum card members and business Platinum card members can enjoy several other benefits, such as Starwood Preferred Guest Gold Status, Hilton HHonors Gold Status, a $200 airline fee credit for baggage charges and other fees, benefits when booking with Fine Hotels & Resorts, complimentary Wi-Fi hotspots, among others.
