American Airlines Group has renewed its credit card agreements with Citigroup and Barclaycard US to extend their relationships and continue offering AAdvantage miles and other benefits to customers.
The agreements will allow Citi to continue provide its collection of cards to new customers through multiple exclusive digital channels such as American’s website, mobile, direct mail and airport lounges.
They will also allow Barclaycard US to offer its cards to new customers in airports and exclusively during flights beginning in January 2017.
American Airlines has also renewed its longtime arrangement with card-processing network MasterCard.
The airline said that current cardholders will continue to receive the same benefits from both Citi and Barclaycard US, as well as benefit from a new, long-term exclusive agreement with MasterCard.
American Airlines chief marketing officer Andrew Nocella said: “These long-term relationships with our innovative credit card partners provide our customers with the best ways to enhance their travel experience.
