ACI Worldwide has completed the acquisition of Payment Components, a Greek-based fintech specialising in AI-driven financial messaging and open banking solutions.
Financial terms of the deal have not been made public, though ACI has stated in a release that “the acquisition is not expected to be financially material to ACI.”

The transaction sees ACI taking ownership of all intellectual property, technology assets, employees, and customer contracts belonging to Payment Components.
The technology from Payment Components will be incorporated into ACI Connetic, with the aim of advancing the development of ACI’s cloud-based payments platform.
This platform supports card processing, account-to-account (A2A) transactions, and AI-fuelled fraud prevention within one modular architecture.

Staff from Payment Components will work with ACI’s development teams for the integration of expanded messaging functionalities as well as features into the Connetic platform.
The acquired company’s use of generative AI is intended to streamline and expedite payment processing.
Founded in 2014, Payment Components produces software focused on A2A payments and application programming interface (API) management.
Its solutions are designed to streamline transaction processes while reducing complexity in payment operations.
The company’s messaging layer is compatible with a wide range of message types and is intended to improve back-office integration and speed up the launch of local payment schemes.
