ACI Worldwide, a payment systems company based in Naples, Florida, has extended its partnership with ATM operator Cardtronics to offer its UP Retail Payments solution for merchants and financial service providers using the Cardtronics network.

The ATM operator is upgrading its offerings for customers through ACI’s integrated platform for all payment channels.

The payments ecosystem requires seamless connectivity, faster time to market and the flexibility and scalability. The UP Retail Payments solution, which includes the Universal Payments Framework (UPF), is expected to enable Cardtronics to offer better services to customers and expand its global reach.

ACI Worldwide executive vice-president Ruth Fornell said: “Cardtronics has long delivered industry-leading reliability and services to its many thousands of global customers, which are now challenged more than ever to drive innovation and growth.

Based on the Universal Payments (UP) Framework and built on open service-oriented architecture, the UP Retail Payments delivers secure payment capabilities. The company said that eight of the top 10 banks globally are using the solution.
