American Banknote Corporation (ABnote), a payment and identification solutions provider, has partnered with MeaWallet, a Norway-based provider of cloud-based payment services, to offer open loop mobile wallet solutions to its customers globally.
Under the partnership, MeaWallet’s cloud-based mobile payment platform will be fully integrated with ABnote’s EMV payments platform offering easier access to EMV-based payments.
The MeaWallet platform will provide an interface layer for ABnote’s wallet solutions that will enable the customers to utilize services like loyalty, coupons and more in a mobile wallet apart from payment services.
The partnership will allow both the existing and new customers to add branded mobile wallets and cloud-based digital mobile payment cards to their portfolio of card products.
Designed to initially support MasterCard and Visa cloud based mobile payment schemes, the open loop mobile will be accepted for contactless and remote payments at merchants across the world accepting these schemes.
Commenting on the partnership, ABnote global CIO John Ekers said: "ABnote’s partnership with MeaWallet means that our customers will have a faster route to mobile payments, using new innovative products such as customer-branded mobile wallets.
