brands such as Amazon and iTunes; - 18.85% said they did not shop online at all
due to security reasons; - 28.62% said that despite shopping online,

Sage Pay benchmark report: 63% of merchants deply 3D
Secure
But judging by Sage Pay’s second e-business
benchmark report, consumers do not need to worry too much:
The research found that most businesses were
“doing a good job preventing fraud” and almost every business
Sage Pay surveyed used the most common fraud prevention tools:
80% used CV2, 63% used 3D Secure and 48% used
AVS.
The 37% of retailers who did not use 3D secure
yet said they were concerned about the effect 3D secure would have
on customers’ shopping experience and were worried that the
implementation of the system would lead to drop-outs at the check
out.
3D Secure does make the online shopping
experience more complex, but Sage Pay argued that there was no
evidence of consume research indicating that drop-out rates would
increase if a merchant uses 3D Secure.
In its benchmark report, Sage Pay said:
“There are ways to make 3D Secure less
painful, so if chargebacks are an issuer and you haven’t
implemented it yet, it’s worth looking at your existing payment
process.
