Citi and 3 Hong Kong, a mobile communications service provider, have launched 3 Citi Wallet, a new mobile payment service that turns mobile phones into digital wallets.
The new mobile wallet service is customized exclusively for both 3 Hong Kong mobile subscribers and designated Citibank Visa credit card users only.

Using Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, 3 Citi Wallet multi-purpose service offers mobile payment, transaction history, and a location-based special offer service.
Compatible with a wide range of smartphones, the 3 Citi Wallet is equipped with multiple security features that provide maximum purchase protection for customers.
Scheduled to be offered from 1 November 2013, the new service will allow its users to enjoy shopping, dining, travel and entertainment at over 9,000 Visa payWave readers in more than 3,400 merchants in Hong Kong.
3 Citi Wallet will also allow contactless payment of up to HK$1,000 (US$128.98) per transaction with up to three designated Citibank Visa Credit Cards.
