Vietnam is the 43rd largest economy in the world with a GDP of $268.4bn. Vietnam’s GDP has grown by 140% between 2010 and 2021 and is expected to grow by 39% by 2025.

As of 2021 there are 1.8 million students in tertiary education in Vietnam, with 8.2 million students in secondary and 8.4 million in primary education. Vietnam spent 4.2% of its GDP on education in 2019.

Vietnam ranked 70th in the World Bank’s Doing Business Report (2020). In the 2019 report it finished 69th. In the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report (2019), Vietnam finished 67th, after ranking 67th in 2018.
