McDonalds Canada has joined the growing list of
companies adopting contactless payment technology in a bid to speed
up transaction times.
The fast food giant has installed Visa PayWave
and MasterCard PayPass-enabled point-of-sale (POS) payment
terminals at more than 1400 restaurant locations in Canada.
“We’re excited to be able to offer our customers
the convenience, speed and security of contactless payments in our
restaurants,” said Jacques Mignault, chief operating officer,
McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada Limited.
Under the new payment method, customers can
either ‘tap’ their MasterCard or ‘wave’ their Visa Cards at the
POS, thereby reducing queuing times.
