FIME, a France-based payments consultancy, has bolstered its operations in the US by opening a new office in San Jose, California.

The new office is aimed at providing end-to-end consulting and certification testing services and get mobile and contactless payment solutions certified and into the market quickly.

FIME said that the laboratory at the San Jose office will deliver full-service market integration support including software development, professional services, consultancy and certification testing for contact and contactless card and mobile solutions.

The office, which is ISO 17025-compliant, has received EMVCo Level 1 accreditation to test that contactless EMV chip cards and mobile payment devices comply with EMVCo requirements.

Also, FIME has received accreditation from Discover and MasterCard to support card and device manufacturers in achieving compliance to their contactless requirements.

FIME America director Xavier Giandominici said: "FIME’s experience implementing contactless card and mobile payment products around the world provides us with a unique perspective on product development and implementation for the U.S. market."
