Payment processing company WorldPay has teamed up with Sabre, a technology provider to the travel and tourism industry, to launch a new global payment solution to facilitate airlines foray into new markets and help to generate new revenue opportunities.
WorldPay claims that the solution will enable airlines identify buying trends more easily through a single customer view, allowing them to better tailor their services to user needs and boost loyalty.
The single solution for processing and payments will support all card types and accept payments across multiple regions, including the US, Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific.
Additionally, the integrated payment solution includes reporting, chargeback and fraud management tools to provide stricter controls, reducing lost revenues.
China UnionPay has confirmed as the first local payment type to be offered through the integrated platform.
Moreover, Ethiopian Airlines has already agreed to offer China UnionPay through the Worldpay and Sabre solution in a move to optimise revenue in multiple markets.
