Payment technology firm Verifone will provide French supermarket retailer Aldi 3,200 payment devices that accept all cashless payments including contactless and mobile wallets.

The development will see Aldi implementing VX 520, Verifone’s countertop payment system that handles contactless and NFC-enabled card processing. VX 520 will also enable Aldi to accept mobile wallet such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Android Pay.

Verifone VP and southern Europe GM Jean-Philippe Niedergang said: "Verifone is extremely pleased that Aldi has extended its relationship based on our past performance and our continued innovations in payments."

Aldi France operates nearly 900 retail locations and is part of Group Aldi.
