Sabre, a technology provider to the travel and tourism industry, has partnered with Conferma, a provider of Virtual Card Number (VCN) technology for the travel sector, to introduce a pre-funded virtual payment solution for travel buyers.

The pre-funded payment option will allow travel buyers to fund their own cards and eliminate the need to set up an additional line of credit with their bank.

In July last year, both the companies have launched Sabre Virtual Payments service that streamlines and automates settlement of air segments for travel buyers.

The new solution can also be used for trips that are made by travellers in the GetThere corporate booking solution.

Sabre has integrated its Sabre Virtual Payments with GetThere in March this year.

Sabre Travel Network marketing and strategy senior vice president Wade Jones said: "Adopting virtual cards to automate the payment and reconciliation process saves time, reduces hassle, and cuts costs. And the addition of a pre-funded option to our existing software suite is yet another way to improve the process."
