Ingenico Group has purchased Think&Go NFC, a France-based provider of connected screens, for an undisclosed amount.

Think&Go NFC, which was established in 2010, enables any kind of digital display to interact with connected objects such as smartphones and transit passes, making connected screens a vehicle for marketing tools like drive-to-store, couponing, loyalty programs and downloads.

The two entities have been using contactless payment technology since 2015 to turn digital advertising displays into genuine points-of-sale.

Ingenico Group claims that Think&Go NFC can now grow its business faster and achieve a 20 fold increase in the number of screens deployed within three years by leveraging its global network and R&D capabilities.

Ingenico Group EVP of innovation and head of Ingenico Labs Michel Léger said: "Integrating Think&Go NFC – which will still be managed by its founder, Vincent Berge – into Ingenico Labs gives us greater opportunity for expansion in the field of connected objects. This acquisition exemplifies the way we are implementing our Strategic Plan 2020, whose aim is to strengthen Ingenico Group’s leadership in omni-channel payment acceptance."

Think&Go NFC chairman Vincent Berge: "Connected screens are designed to keep pace with market trends driven by societal change. With their combination of payment features and marketing features, they hold tremendous potential.
