Calera Capital, a US-based middle market private equity firm, has purchased a stake in Transaction Services Group (TSG), a New Zealand-based payment solutions provider.

TSG chairman Murray Bolton and senior management will continue to hold a significant equity stake in the business.

Additionally, Calera Capital managing partner James Farrell, senior managing director Paul Walsh and principal Brian Fearnow, will join TSG’s board. All three of them have led Calera’s investment in TSG.

TSG offers technology solutions that enable businesses to accept recurring payments from customers and has operations across Australasia, Europe and North America.

Walsh said, "Calera has built a relationship with Murray Bolton and TSG management over multiple years and is excited to be formalizing our partnership. TSG provides an unparalleled level of service to its clients, and we look forward to investing behind the platform to support the multi-faceted needs of our clients.

Farrell said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Murray Bolton and working with the TSG management team. Calera is committed to supporting them with the capital and resources needed to realize the substantial potential of this high-quality enterprise."
