France-based company Societe Generale’s IT hiring declined 2.1% in May 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 4.63% in May 2021 when compared with April 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 16.76% share in the company’s total hiring activity in May 2021, and recorded a 1.83% down over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Societe Generale IT hiring in May 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Societe Generale, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 61.71% in May 2021, and a 6.28% drop over April 2021, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 22.04% in May 2021, and registered a 45.45% an increase. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 7.16% in May 2021, a 16.13% drop from April 2021.

North America drives IT hiring at Societe Generale

North America emerged as the leading region in the global banking and payments IT hiring activity in May 2021 with a 65.56% share, which marked a 21.43% growth over the previous month.

Europe stood next with 27.82%, registering a 41.62% month-on-month decline. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with a 4.68% share and an 112.5% growth over April 2021.

In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 1.93% and a month-on-month an increase of 133.33%.

Mexico commanded a leading presence in the region’s banking and payments industry IT hiring activity with a 61.98% share in May 2021, a 29.31% growth over April 2021. Russia featured next with an 11.02% share, down 18.37% over the previous month.France recorded an 8.54% share, decline of 55.71% compared with April 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead Societe Generale IT hiring activity in May 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 82.09%, down by 5.1% from April 2021. Mid Level positions with a 14.88% share, a growth of 20% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 2.75% share, down 41.18% over April 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.28%, recording a month-on-month decline of 75%.
