UK-based company Barclays’s IT hiring increased 0.2% in July 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 1.39% in July 2021 when compared with June 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 31.24% share in the company’s total hiring activity in July 2021, and recorded a 0.11% down over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Barclays IT hiring in July 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Barclays, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 71.4% in July 2021, and a 14.65% drop over June 2021, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 17.85% in July 2021, and registered a 36.07% increase. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 7.74% in July 2021, a 5.26% drop from June 2021.

Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at Barclays

Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global banking and payments IT hiring activity in July 2021 with a 67.1% share, which marked a 14.99% drop over the previous month.

Europe stood next with 23.44%, registering a 36.25% month-on-month growth. North America was the third leading region with a 7.96% share and a 17.78% drop over June 2021.

In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 1.51% and a month-on-month increase of 133.33%.

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s banking and payments industry IT hiring activity with a 66.24% share in July 2021, a 14.92% decline over June 2021. the UK featured next with a 22.8% share, up 41.33% over the previous month. United States recorded a 7.96% share, decline of 17.78% compared with June 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead Barclays IT hiring activity in July 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.69%, down by 4.52% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 21.29% share, a decline of 23.85% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Senior job ads with 3.01% share, up 100% over June 2021, while Entry Level postings accounted for 3.01%, recording a month-on-month increase of 250%.
