IT jobs claimed a 29.42% share in the company’s total hiring activity in May 2021, and recorded a 4.71% down over the last three-month average share.

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Barclays, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 73.07% in May 2021, and a 21.56% drop over April 2021, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 12.8% in May 2021, and registered a 21.62% decline. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 8.17% in May 2021, a 9.76% drop from April 2021.

Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global banking and payments IT hiring activity in May 2021 with a 69.09% share, which marked a 29.34% growth over the previous month.

Europe stood next with 23.62%, registering a 53.68% month-on-month decline. North America was the third leading region with a 7.06% share and a 64.04% drop over April 2021.

Junior Level jobs held a share of 77.92%, down by 20.5% from April 2021. Mid Level positions with a 19.43% share, a decline of 11.11% compared with the previous month.
