The Canadian subsidiary of American Express (AmEx) has signed an agreement with Aimia and Air Canada to continue its role as a payments card partner in the Aeroplan rewards programme.
The contract has been extended until 29 June 2020, parallel with Air Canada’s participation in Aeroplan.
Air Canada is a domestic and international airline, while Aimia offers strategy, development, implementation and management services for clients under its Aeroplan loyalty programme.
AmEx issues Aeroplan co-branded cards range with certain benefits on Air Canada.
In addition, cardholders participating in AmEx’s Membership Rewards Program will be able to transfer their earned reward points to Aeroplan.
Amex Bank of Canada president and general manager Rob McClean said: “We are pleased that the extension of this partnership maintains the continuity of the service to our cardmembers and enables them to continue to enjoy access to the Aeroplan Rewards Program and benefits on Air Canada.”
