Krebs on Security investigating reports of potential unusual activity on payment cards usage, issued on 19 December 2014, has revealed about possible credit card data breaches faced at some of the restaurant outlets of fast food retail chain, Chick-fil-A.

According to the reports, several financial institutions have notified about unusual transactions between 2 December 2013 and 30 September 2014 involving 9,000 customer cards with a common point-of-purchase which were Chick-fil-A locations majorly concentrated in Georgia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia.
Chick-fil-A said in a note: "We want to assure our customers we are working hard to investigate these events and will share additions facts as we are able to do so. If the investigation reveals that a breach has occurred, customers will not be liable for any fraudulent charges to their accounts.
"If our customers are impacted, we will arrange for free identity protection services, including credit monitoring."
