India’s Mswipe Technologies has obtained the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) final payment aggregator (PA) license, which enables it to operate across online and offline payment channels under a unified regulatory framework.

With the licence, the company is authorised to bring merchants onto its platform and aggregate customer payments across physical, online, and hybrid channels.

The licence also permits Mswipe to process inward and outward cross-border payment flows, extending its capabilities beyond domestic transactions.

This development broadens the company’s service range to include international payments in addition to local merchant transactions.

Mswipe now joins a select group of fintech firms that have recently received full PA authorisation.

Others in this category are Razorpay, Paytm, Easebuzz, Pine Labs, Airpay, and PayU, all of which are permitted to offer a complete stack of payment aggregation services across ecommerce, in-store, and cross-border.

Since its founding in 2011, Mswipe has evolved from providing point-of-sale hardware to offering a wider payments infrastructure.

Its portfolio now includes QR soundboxes, mobile point of sale (MPOS) and smart PoS terminals, payment gateways, and embedded digital payment solutions, supporting both offline and online transactions. Currently, the company serves merchants in over 600 Indian cities.

According to Mswipe, the licence will support the scaling of its omni-channel payments platform and the introduction of new services for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as well as larger businesses operating in both digital and physical environments.

Mswipe Technologies CEO and co-founder Ketan Patel was quoted by IndianStartupNews as saying, “Securing the PA licence is a landmark inflection point in Mswipe’s journey. This authorisation reinforces our vision to build a trusted, secure, and inclusive digital payments ecosystem that seamlessly serves merchants across India—whether they operate online, at physical storefronts, or in hybrid models.

“The licence empowers us to accelerate innovation, deepen our service portfolio, and deliver value-driven solutions that address the evolving needs of India’s MSMEs and enterprise partners alike. We remain committed to driving financial inclusion and enabling next-generation commerce with cutting-edge technology and strong regulatory alignment.”
