Dutch payments company Mollie has introduced a new payment terminal to facilitate contactless payments for businesses.
Named Tap, the terminal is currently available in the Netherlands, with plans to roll out to Belgium, Germany, and Austria in the subsequent weeks.
Designed to support the operational needs of small businesses, Tap operates on the Android platform, allowing integration with relevant business apps.
The terminal’s design enables customers to make payments by tapping their card or smartphone against it, without the need to reposition the device, the company said.
The integration of Tap into Mollie’s existing platform allows business owners to manage both online and offline transactions from a unified dashboard.
Tap is offered with various pricing options to suit different business needs, including a purchase price of €95 with no monthly fees and a subscription model at €20 per month for businesses with higher transaction volumes.

By GlobalDataMollie CEO Koen Köppen said: “With Tap, we show that it can be done differently. The terminal is easy to use, similar to a smartphone, affordable and ready to use within 30 seconds.
“Moreover, Tap works anytime, anywhere, allowing business owners to grow their businesses both online and offline, and strengthen their omnichannel strategy.”
Mollie’s platform also provides a range of financial services, including online payments and business financing.
In April, Mollie partnered with Qonto, a business finance solution for SMEs, to integrate payment and banking services, aiming to offer financial management tools for small and medium enterprises.
