UnionPay International and AccorHotels Group have signed an agreement under which 85 pilot hotels in France will accept UnionPay cards.

Pursuant to the contract, 200 hotels of the AccorHotels Group will accept UnionPay cards by the end of June 2017.

The agreement enables UnionPay cardholders to pay for their hotel rooms at the POS terminals in the hotels. Additionally, they can pay with UnionPay cards in other establishment in the hotels including restaurants, bars, meeting rooms and spa treatments.

As per the latest data, nearly 70% of the ATMs in France accept UnionPay cards for cash withdrawal, and some of them are equipped with interface in Chinese.

Nearly 130,000 French merchants accept UnionPay cards for payment, which includes places frequently visited by visitors like Avenue des Champs-Elysees, Place Vendome and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, as well as bookstores and souvenir shops in famous museums.
