US-based Sprint has partnered with Vantiv, an electronic integrated payment processing services provider, to launch a new tablet-based, cloud-connected point-of-sale (POS) system that enables inventory tracking, business analytics, email marketing and more.

Called Vantiv Mobile Checkout, the new POS system is powered by NCR Silver and will allow businesses to transition away from traditional cash registers and manual processes to the latest integrated technology.

According to Sprint, Vantiv Mobile Checkout will enable businesses to accept payments in the store, on the go or in a temporary/seasonal environment; manage multi-store inventory, employees and timekeeping; and connect with customers more effectively with real-time sales history.

Available through the Sprint business sales channel, the POS system will enable business owners to track sales and profitability, analyse and report on customer trends, manage inventory, market to customers and process sales on site or on location with secure payment processing.

Sprint vice president of emerging solutions group, Ben Vos, said: "Our goal is to seamlessly integrate the latest in storefront technology to help retailers provide their customers with a unique experience while also receiving valuable data key to critical decision making."
