Voice Commerce’s core business is voice
biometrics and last year the company joined MasterCard and
Visa in order to develop a merchant acquiring capability. CEO Nick
Ogden told Cards International that the launch of the
issuing division provided “the third side of the triangle”.

“We will be able to integrate NFC and voice
recognition capabilities into the prepaid products we issue,” said
Ogden.

Ogden claims near-field communication (NFC)
technology and voice recognition capabilities will be integrated
into the prepaid products issued and he plans to drive the
acceptance infrastructure of such technologies through the
company’s acquiring division.

“2010 was a strong year for Voice Commerce and
the appointment of Lindsay underlines our strategic plans for
growth in 2011,” he said.

“Lindsay’s extensive experience in the
payments industry will serve us well as we look to further
penetrate the market with new and innovative offerings surrounding
mobile and e-money.”

Prior to joining Voice Commerce, Harben worked
as an independent consultant to issuing banks and programme
managers. She has also held business development positions at
commercial companies including IDT Financial Services and Affinity
Cards.

“The opportunities for e-money, coupled with
the increasing use of mobile devices, are substantial,” she
said.

“Voice Commerce Group has also integrated
authentication and KYC and I am personally very excited about
developing these services throughout the EU.”
