Sage Pay expects its new mobile solution to be
adopted especially by independent businesses, such as plumbers and
electricians, who usually do not accept card payments.

The Sage Pay mobile POS terminal connects to
the merchant’s mobile phone via bluetooth to authorise
transactions. Data gets encrypted in the POS and Sage Pay said that
“the major UK acquiring banks” have approved the solution and that
it meets PCI standards.

“There are over half a million businesses in
the UK who are still unable to accept card payments. Small
businesses need to be able to take payments anywhere and at anytime
with a reliable card reader. This solution provides a real boost
for Sage 50 Accounts Mobile users by enabling
connected services,” said Simon Black, Sage Pay CEO.

Black added that the new solution “seamlessly
integrates with the Sage 50 Accounts Mobile”.
