Discover Financial Services, a US-based direct banking and payment services company, has officially launched free FICO Scores on the monthly statements of its credit cardholders.

The company launched a pilot run in November 2013 with successful results, following which it has come up with a full roll out.

The FICO Scores provided by Discover are based on data from TransUnion.

In addition to free FICO Scores, Discover also provides consumer cardmembers with two key factors that influenced their FICO Score.

Discover brand and acquisition senior vice president, Julie Loeger, said knowing their score can help their cardmembers achieve their personal goals and better prepare to reach life’s many major milestones.

"Beyond sharing the FICO Score itself, we’re now taking it one step further by providing consumers with the specific reasons their score is what it is," Loeger added.
