Visa is set to strengthen its technology resources by creating 2,000 full-time technology jobs.
The new positions will be a combination of new roles and existing contractor positions that are being converted to full-time positions.
Visa plans to hire professional technologists to enhance its teams in India, Singapore and four locations in the US. Currently, hiring process is in progress and will continue through 2017.
In addition, the payments technology company plans to open a new technology centre in India in 2015. The teams at this location will focus on the development of key application programming interfaces (APIs) and software development kits (SDKs).
