Visa has signed a global strategic partnership with FireEye to introduce Visa Threat Intelligence, a cyber intelligence service designed to offer real-time threat information to merchants and issuers.
The solution, powered by FireEye, will allow merchants and issuers quickly evaluate and act on cyber-breaches compromising their payment systems.
More sophisticated users can leverage APIs that can automatically feed threat indicator data into their own security systems, FireEye stated in a release.
A premium offering will offer access to advanced tools, powered by FireEye virtual execution engine technology.
These tools will help assess and isolate malicious indicators from malware to detect suspicious activity from IP addresses and domains.

By GlobalDataVisa Threat Intelligence will also offer a secure platform for clients to form trusted communities and safely exchange real-time threat intelligence.
From late 2015, subscribers will have access to a web portal that distills the latest proprietary cyber intelligence relevant to payment systems into actionable information.
This includes alerts on malicious actors, methods, trends in cyber-attacks, as well as in-depth forensic analysis from current data breaches.
In addition, from early 2016, the alliance is expected to lead to launch of additional solutions that will help identify malicious communications and recommend remediation steps based on activity in the network and infection rates across the network.
Visa senior vice president of risk products and business intelligence Mark Nelsen said: "Each week, merchants and card issuers receive thousands of alerts about possible cyber-attacks, making it difficult to know which ones to focus on.
"Visa Threat Intelligence removes the noise by assessing hundreds of threat indicators and serving-up the most important and timely information. Users can then isolate and address those threats that are the most pressing and potentially damaging to their business and customers."
