American Express has partnered with Newegg, an electronics-focused e-retailer in the US, to introduce a new technology integration that will enable US cardholders to use points for online purchases on Newegg.com.

Card members enrolled in the Membership Rewards program can use the points at checkout, directly in the payment flow on Newegg.com, for all or part of their purchase.

American Express said that card members shopping on Newegg.com can use Amex Express Checkout to check out online by using their americanexpress.com user ID and password.

Newegg senior vice president of sales and marketing Merle McIntosh said: "Our customers have come to expect a first-rate checkout experience with great flexibility in how they pay for purchases. Today, we make it simple for American Express Card Members to use their Membership Rewards points to make purchases on Newegg.com, a great convenience for our customers."

American Express vice president for digital partnerships and product development Dave Wolf said: "With this integration, we are bringing more choice and flexibility to our card members in how they pay for their purchases on Newegg, a merchant partner where we know our card members shop.
